If you're in Boston for the ASLA Show, you may enjoy walking along the many paths of Norman Leventhal Park, a 1.7-acre green space in the financial district where office workers enjoy eating lunch. The park features a sculptural fountain, a garden trellis, a lawn, hundreds of flowers, shrubs and trees, wrought-iron fencing and plenty of seating. The American Planning Association (APA) has announced its ''2013 Great Places in America'' www.planning.org/greatplaces/spaces/2013. Under that rubric, the APA lists what it considers the ''Great Neighborhoods,'' ''Great Streets'' and ''Great Public Spaces,'' 10 locations for each category.

As public space planning and design are significant sectors for landscape architects, you may be curious to know what U.S. public spaces made the list. The 10 sites are not ranked, just simply listed:

• Boardwalk, Hollywood, Florida
