The American Nursery & Landscape Association is challenging the Department of Homeland Security?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Social Security No-Match?EUR??,,????'?????<? rule of Aug. 15. The rule requires employers to take immediate steps when notified that employees?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR? names and social security numbers don?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?t match. If they fail to comply, businesses could be hit by fines and other penalties. Seven other business organizations have joined the same suit. Even if it does not overturn the regulation, the legal challenge is delaying the rule?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s implementation, the ANLA statement said. Many green industry businesses face high demands for seasonal workers, and would be required to comply with the no-match rule while attempting to meet their seasonal hiring needs. ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Asking small business owners to dedicate the resources necessary to comply with these regulations during critical seasonal times, when we are struggling to secure and maintain a workforce, is not reasonable,?EUR??,,????'?????<? said Dwight Hughes, Jr., ANLA President.
