Well . . . Summer is upon us and as I write this the June gloom has settled over Southern California, the snow has finally melted across the northern states, the tornados are ripping across the "Belt' and the storms we call the annual Specifier's and Buyer's Guides are probably sitting on your desk. June is the month we usually spring clean here at Landscape Architect and Specifier News and Landscape Contractor / Design Build Maintain. For instance, June is the month of the annual readership survey. The survey is your chance to dictate the upcoming content of the magazine. There are only about 20-25 questions and it should only take a couple of minutes to complete, so let your voice be heard and either Click Here to take the LASN survey or Click Here to take the LC/DBM survey, watch for a special email invitation around June 20th, or follow the link from the next few editions of landscapearchitect Weekly. And speaking about landscapearchitect Weekly, are you one of the 56,000 weekly recipients of the industry's leading weekly e-newsletter? If not, it's easy to join for FREE. You can use the marketplace response card on page 139 in LASN or page 61 in LC/DBM to sign up, you can visit landscapearchitect.com and use your personal password located on the mailing label of this issue to EXPRESS Register, or you can send an email to circulation@landscapearchitect.com. Anyway you do it, sign up for landscapearchitect Weekly and you'll receive breaking news, feature articles, project reviews, how to's, and product introductions with hundreds of advertiser links sent in one email every Tuesday. There is no other e-newsletter in the business that offers the content and industry-wide connections that you will find in landscapearchitect Weekly, and with LOW's new email privacy policy, your professional email will not be sold and will only be used to send you the newsletter and landscape specific messages related to your demographic and geographic profile. June is also the month we issue an annual call for pro bono projects. For the past many years the article on the last page of the publication has been about you giving back to the community by offering your services to projects that make a difference. And while the vast majority of you don't do these projects for the publicity, we would like to hear of your good works and use your story to motivate others to pitch in and give back. If you have participated in a pro bono sort of way with a project that makes a difference in your community, please let us know by sending an email to stewardship@landscapearchitect.com. Also, keep your eye on landscapearchitect.com as we continue to improve the largest landscape database on the Internet. Coming soon are improved association event searches and a big change in the product search engine. landscapearchitect has thousands of vendor links and tens of thousands of product profiles all searchable by category and/or geographic locale. You can search for either company names or browse through the extensive photo library for that next site amenity, piece of equipment or to round out your plant palette. So, as we move into summer, and with all indications there will be steady work ahead, please take a few minutes to check out the many extra services offered to you free of charge through your subscription to Landscape Architect and Specifier News and Landscape Contractor / Design Build Maintain. Tell us what you'd like to see in the publication, let us know if you are giving back to your community and be sure to visit us at landscapearchitect.com . . . Have a great summer and . . .
