The American Academy of Landscape Design, a new school for professionals in the landscape design field, has announced its first two courses: “Sissinghurst” (Nov. 6-10, 2006) and “Barnsley House” (Nov. 13-17, 2006)?EUR??,,????'?????<??oeboth named after important gardens.
Tim Thoelecke, AALD founder, says the curriculum is targeted at landscape architects and landscape designers with at least two years of working experience. Most of these week-long sessions will be offered from November to March and be a ?EUR??,,????'?????<?concentrated, immersion experience centered around a design project.?EUR??,,????'?????<? Thoelecke believes landscape architecture degree programs are good at the “bigger picture issues of landscape architecture,?EUR??,,????'?????<? but believes they ?EUR??,,????'?????<?do not adequately address residential design.?EUR??,,????'?????<?
The goal of the AALD is ?EUR??,,????'?????<?to help raise the level of the landscape design in the industry.
