ALNLA Accepting Awards Applications

The Alabama Nursery and Landscape Association is now accepting applications for its four annual awards, the recipients of which will be announced at the ALNLA membership meeting during the Gulf States Horticultural Expo in Mobile, Ala., January 19, 2012.

The ALNLA awards include:

Academic Scholarship Awards (Monetary Award): Given to honor the academic achievements of students studying in Alabama secondary education institutions who have chosen the green industry as their career choice. Also, these awards encourage students to remain in this career path by introducing them and by making connections with ALNLA members.

Horizon Award: Recognizes an individual for outstanding service in the field of horticulture who is either less than thirty-six years of age or has been in the green industry less than eight years.

Landscape Award Program (Monetary Award): Landscape firms can nominate their residential and commercial landscape work. There are six different categories in which to enter. This program is intended to promote professional excellence and to encourage greater public awareness of the benefits of landscaping.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Recognizes an individual who has been involved in the Green Industry for 25 years or more. This individual has contributed to the advancement of the Green Industry in the State of Alabama.
