WASHINGTON - As noted by Jack Kelley, the President of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), in a Fortune magazine political survey, AGC ranks in the Top 50 of all special interest groups in Washington, D.C. As thousands of such groups are considered for the survey, to be ranked is a testament to AGC and its government relations activities. Building on success in the political arena, AGC's traditional meeting - AGC's 2003 Midyear Legislative & Governmental Relations Conference - is taking on a new name and a new focus by convening in Washington, D.C., September 14-16, 2003. Committees will meet on Sunday, September 14, and will address issues that have a legislative and/or governmental relations component. AGC will add value to these committee meetings, by featuring either a representative from the Hill or from a Government Agency as a special presenter. In preparation for the Capitol Hill visits on Tuesday, September 16, a variety of Federal Issues Workshops will take place on Monday, September 15, in order to educate participants on the issues affecting contractors.
