Going green is going to become one of the top issues for the 21st Century and gives landscape businesses untapped opportunities. Dennis Slater, president of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), attended an invitation-only Senate Democratic Green Jobs Summit.

More than 60 green technology businesses, educators, labor leaders and industry organizations attended the summit, which focused on identifying opportunities for industry and the economy by investments in green energy and creating clean energy jobs.

Slater said that for AEM and its members, there were several promising opportunities aired at the summit, including 1) energy efficiency in factories, production and supply chains; 2) construction of energy sites, including wind farm and other green energy site land development and erection, energy grid improvements; 3) recycling and waste management; 4) renewable energy including forestry and agriculture products as biofuel; and 5) energy efficient transportation networks through the proper funding of the nation?EUR??,,????'???s transportation infrastructure. – Courtesy of Association of Equipment Manufacturers
