Academy on Vine, Los Angeles, CA

Birkenstock Lighting Design
by Staff

A block in Hollywood once slated to hold a museum dedicated to the Academy Awards has been transformed into a spacious $450-million campus of offices, apartments and stores. The 3.5 acres of core and shell design of this complex was made up of four mid-rise commercial buildings offering approximately 350,000 square feet of office and retail space which was recently leased in whole to Netflix. and one 20-story residential tower with 200 units and amenity spaces,
Birkenstock Lighting Design was not only involved in the lighting of the core and shell for all of the buildings, but has transformed the exterior spaces to the requirements of Netflix, which includes the reworking of the Arroyo and outdoor terraces to provide ample space for large gatherings, events and concerts; new connecter bridges between the buildings; an open air staircase; and a grand red carpet walkway for Netflix's stars to enter their movie premiere theater.
