A Valuable Resource
Information Source Book Available for Industry Professionals
ARMONK, NY
Landscape Architects, urban planners, lighting designers, contractors, and many other industry professionals can discover a number of information sources and target the ones that are most useful throughThe Encyclopedia of Associations and Information Sources for Architects, Designers, and Engineers by David Kent Ballast. With a plethora of information sources available today, the problem is being aware of what is out there and what sources are most suitable for a particular need. This book provides several ways to find, evaluate and contact the resources that can save you time and money in your work.
The book is organized into eleven parts based on source types. Within each part, the listings are organized alphabetically, except for federal government sources which are listed according to their department and agency hierarchy. If you don't know the name of an organization or website, the twelfth and last section--containing the indexes--can help. For example, the keyword index allows you to search for information in all parts of the book based on subject matter; whereas, the acronym index lists the acronyms used by trade association and organizations. A CD-ROM disk is also included with the text, which can allow the user to be even more specific in searches.
