Planters will open its first-ever Planters Grove, a peanut-shaped urban park in New Orleans?EUR??,,????'?????<




Renowned landscape architect Ken Smith discusses the Legume Plaza layout with local corps members at the Planters Grove in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans



Previously an unused plot of land, this green space was designed to provide a natural, inspirational place for the community to enjoy. The Planters Grove was brought to life by The Corps Network, the national member organization for Service and Conservation Corps, with its local member Corps, Limitless Vistas, Inc. and the Louisiana Green Corps/ARC of Greater New Orleans. The design is inspired by elements intrinsic to New Orleans including locally sourced reclaimed materials and native plants and flowers. Key features include:

?EUR??,,????'?????<Recycled concrete pavement makes up a community-gathering spot called the Legume Plaza

In coming weeks, they will be adding additional sustainable elements such as solar lighting and a rainwater collection tank attached to a neighboring home.
