TerraCycle, a company dedicated to eco-friendly plant foods, has expanded its product line with a fertilizer made by feeding organic waste to worms, then packaging the worm “waste” in used soda bottles with hose attachment sprayer on top. Packaged in sets of two one-liter bottles, there’s enough fertilizer for 5000 square feet of turf. The soda bottles are collected through a “Bottle Brigade” program in which the company distributes collection bins to various schools and non-profit organizations. Thanks to the program’s widespread success, TerraCycle has collected more than one million bottles from 1,400 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
