The American Society of Landscape Architects received an Art Works Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to open up a new exhibition entitled, "Smart Policies for a Changing Climate." This exhibition showcases 20 diverse case studies that "illustrate the success these recommendations can have in harnessing natural systems, reducing carbon emissions, and improving communities' resilience to climate change." According to ASLA, the case studies demonstrate recommendations and best practices such as:• How to restore natural systems and bring back biodiversity• How cities can design to prepare for flooding scenarios using natural systems• Integrating renewable facilities into communitiesFor more information on this new exhibition, visit https://climate.asla.org. ASLA is also calling for submissions of further case studies that illustrate how landscape architects are designing for climate change. To submit, click HERE.
