What is Modern City?
Modern City is a new kind of play system for the modern city at play. It is inspired by many architectural styles and makes a strong visual statement as part of a city park or a suburban green space. It celebrates the best of traditional play structures and offers additional options to enjoy playful movement.

 
How does Modern City create an artistic and innovative play space?
Modern City makes an attractive, iconic, visual statement. Part of its visual appeal is the larger than normal square supports and a unique connection hub that stands apart from other types of play equipment. It's designed to be aesthetically pleasing, but its also designed to promote multigenerational play. The overall design is strikingly open and that invites the entire family into the play space. Every detail of Modern City is intended to be functional, developmentally beneficial and most importantly - FUN.

How are the materials unique or different?
We designed a play system from the ground-up with materials and supports intended to provide strength, durability, and style. We selected beautiful and durable materials like stainless steel and aluminum. They are easy to maintain and vandal-resistant. Powder-coated aluminum caps and shrouds protect connection hardware and provide additional pops of color, creating a custom-designed sculptural look. The 5" square tubing that makes up the structure offers the industry's leading structural support and durability. We incorporated welded wire mesh to create open lines of sight and add contrasting colors to the slide platforms. They also provide a functional benefit of encouraging children to properly enter the sliding area. Finally, we added poly braided steel cables for our net-style climbers. The 18mm polyester-coated steel cables are large and strong and offer a comfortable hand grip for even young users.

What are some of the new types of play features included with Modern City?
The entire system is completely climbable. Even the uprights provide play activity as multiple routes of travel to reach the next level. The climbing discs are a modern take on traditional stairs. They provide slight movement while climbing and promote balance and coordination. The discs, themselves, are at transfer height, and when combined with an accessible pathway, allow children of varied abilities to play together. There is a challenging stainless steel chain bridge on many of the Modern City configurations. It's durable, beautiful and gives children the sensation of "walking on air." We also built ground-level play activities into the 5" square supports. They are heavy-duty stainless steel and provide tactile, hands-on elements of discovery and learning.

How do I know if Modern City is the right fit for my project?
Modern City is available in multiple sizes and configurations, and the system provides multiple layers of play in a small footprint. There are systems for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12 and freestanding activities like swings, climbers and slides that complement the visual style. Modern City is infinitely scalable for age range, space or budget. It's a truly modern approach to designing a play environment.
