After contacting every state in the U.S.-- this comes from our own circulation process-- LASN has tallied an approximate total of 16,000 Registered Landscape Architects (including the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service); a number significantly less than the 25,000 reported by the Council for Registration Board (CLARB) in 1991. CLARB is currently in the process of gathering statistics on the number of Registered Landscape Architects to date. About 80% of the surveys have been returned to CLARB and final results are expected to be calculated in two months. LASN will keep readers informed on CLARB's survey results in future issues.
