Responses to call for a National Disaster Response Team:

Dear LASN:

Yes! All critical [National Disaster Response] areas needed to be addressed globally and site-specifically. I personally have experience in design, implementation, construction training and maintenance.

Mike Reese, Crosslakes, WV

Dear LASN:

As an officer in the New York Guard, I currently participate in an Office of Emergency Preparedness Training & Planning.

Ernest L. Paskey

Canadaigua, NY

Dear LASN:

This is a great idea for gaining exposure as to what Landscape Architects do. As much as pre-disaster planning is the most logical, the press would rather focus on what happens after a disaster-- therefore Landscape Architects would gain the most exposure and press.

Eastern, ME

Editor's Reply: We agree. Landscape Architects can definitely contribute to the Public Health, Welfare, and Safety of the general public. The public needs to know they can count on this profession! Keep your responses coming in, and please sign your name-- so you can contribute to the team and make a difference.
