Students had the opportunity to join walking tours, site visits, behind-the-scenes manufacturing tours, and hands-on experiences, like a sketching workshop by Brad Smith, PLA, Seferian Design Group (SDG) Landscape Architects. On the last night, students enjoyed a formal event with dancing.

Brad Smith, BLA, OALA, APALA, CSLA, ASLA, Partner and Senior Landscape Architect at SDG Landscape Architects in Burlington, Ontario, Canada led a sketching workshop. When LASN reached out for comment, Smith said, "What a surreal experience having LABash 2025 back the University of Guelph where it all started in 1970! I was honoured to have the opportunity to host a workshop on 'Why We Draw,' which explored the value of drawing as a process connected to seeing, thinking, and engaging throughout design. Sketching and drawing enhances creativity, improves communication throughout the design process, and fosters a deeper connection to the landscapes we design."
