Gretchen Wilson, PLA, ASLA, is a visionary leader whose work demonstrates the power of landscape architecture to shape healthier, more resilient communities. As co-founder and principal of Dig Studio, she has grown the firm from a small startup into a nationally respected practice of more than 40 professionals, known for integrating ecological systems, community voices, and design excellence. Wilson's leadership blends creativity with strong organizational strategy. She has built a collaborative studio culture that prioritizes mentorship, equity, and innovation, establishing clear career pathways and championing policies like salary parity and inclusive hiring. Under her guidance, Dig Studio has become a model for how design firms can foster both high-performing teams and meaningful, community-centered work. Her design approach places green infrastructure and water systems at the forefront. Wilson has led more than $100 million in award-winning projects that address climate resilience, biodiversity, and urban heat, including the transformative Carpio-Sanguinette/Heron Pond Park in Denver and the Truckee River Vision Plan in Nevada. These projects demonstrate how landscape architecture can align ecological restoration with public health and access to nature, particularly in underserved communities. A dedicated leader within ASLA, Wilson has served in roles from chapter leadership to the national Board of Trustees and will serve as ASLA's 2027 President. She is a passionate advocate for the profession, advancing its role in policy, infrastructure, and climate action while mentoring the next generation of practitioners.
