Bobby Eichholz, PLA, ASLA, has spent nearly three decades showing how landscape architects can lead not only through design, but also through advocacy, coalition-building, and public service. As President of Rialto Studio and a longtime leader in Texas ASLA, he has helped elevate the profession's voice in shaping more sustainable, connected, and inclusive communities. Eichholz is exceptional for his ability to bring people together across disciplines and industries to achieve lasting results. He has served in key leadership roles for Texas ASLA, including Chapter President, and also became the first person to serve as both Texas ASLA Chapter President and Chairman of the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association. That rare bridge between professions strengthened policy advocacy, expanded partnerships, and increased public understanding of landscape architecture's essential role in water stewardship, climate resilience, and healthy public spaces. His leadership has delivered real impact. He helped defend professional licensure in Texas, organized joint Green Industry Advocacy Days, and played a major role in water conservation efforts that contributed to new policies and long-term state infrastructure funding. In San Antonio, his work helped advance landscape ordinance changes that reduced landscape water use and promoted smarter irrigation practices. Eichholz has also led transformative, award-winning projects that demonstrate the power of landscape architecture at its best. At Pearl Brewery, Confluence Park, and San Pedro Creek Culture Park, he guided complex collaborations that turned historic and industrial sites into vibrant public places rooted in ecology, culture, and sustainability. These projects now serve as national models for adaptive reuse, native planting, stormwater management, and community education. Through visionary leadership, influential advocacy, and landmark built work, Bobby Eichholz has strengthened the profession and expanded its impact on communities across Texas and beyond.
