2024 Class of Fellows, Bradley McCauley, FASLA, Illinois Chapter

Bradley McCauley graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Landscape Architecture. For the last 17 years, he has worked at site design group, ltd. In Chicago, rising to position of Managing Principal and gaining licenses in 14 states. McCauley manages a firm portfolio valued at $2 billion and has grown site design from a team of 10 to over 60 employees. His impact has reached beyond his place of employment, as he has served in many local and national positions within the ASLA, including ASLA's Vice President of Membership and as the Illinois Chapter President. Besides the ASLA, McCauley has held leadership roles with The Cultural Landscape Foundation's Stewardship Council and the University of Illinois Department of Landscape Architecture Resource Committee. This commitment to the profession also appears in his advocacy efforts that have increased ASLA membership, STEM designation for the field, heightened awareness of the profession, and a five-year, successful campaign to protect licensure by reclaiming the Title Act in Illinois. McCauley is an advocate for collaboration among landscape architecture firms and partnerships with educators to facilitate student employment opportunities. In June, McCauley was elected as the ASLA 2025-2026 President-Elect and will be sworn in at the ASLA Conference in October. McCauley has stated that he aims to enhance business development, foster professional growth, and facilitate student employment during his time in office, addressing unique challenges such as exposure, recognition, workforce development, and project management. He envisions creating platforms for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and equipping firms with necessary tools.
