Building Permits

 
In October, the U.S. housing market saw a 13.8% decline in privately-owned housing units authorized by building permits from the previous 12 months, reaching a non-seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,251,000. Single-family, and five or more-unit authorizations fell by 10.6% and 20.1% respectively, while two-to-four-unit authorizations grew by 1.1% and has been on an upward trend since 2021. However, the single-family and five or more-unit properties have been declining for the past two years.
