2019 Vanguard Award Recipient Announced

The Irrigation Association has announced its 2019 Vanguard Award winner. The award recognizes innovation that leads the way in new developments or ideas. 

Lindsay Corporation's Riverview LLP project has been named the recipient of this year's Vanguard Award.

Located in Arizona, Riverview LLP operates 196 center pivots over more than 24,000 acres of irrigated land.

Riverview LLP identified a primary challenge to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability through water conversation and teamed with Lindsay to meet the challenge.

Partners in the project included Riverview LLP, a Minnesota-based beef, dairy and crop production partnership; Lindsay dealer Whitewater Irrigation; Lindsay's water engineering division IRZ Engineering Consultants; and Watertronics. The collaboration produced the construction of a radio network, implementation of remote telemetry, customization of a pumping system with variable frequency drives and dynamic demand control to reduce pumping costs - a complete solution for the operation.

The Vanguard Award and the other IA award winners were officially announced during Smart Irrigation Month on Technology Tuesday, July 9. The IA awards will be presented to all recipients, including Lindsay and the team behind the Riverview LLP project, during the general session of the Irrigation Show and Education Week in Las Vegas.
