Alamance Regional Medical Center Burlington, North Carolina

The Employee and Healing Garden at Alamance Regional Medical Center provides a comforting respite for employees, patients and visitors to the Cone Health Hospital. The wetlands were enhanced by using recycled pavers, seating areas and native plants. The dining patio was created with salt finish concrete, timeless site furniture and a sound-buffering water wall. The garden has a sandblasted colored concrete spine leading through all of the rooms of the garden.

Features include an outdoor classroom; fire ring; overlook plaza; two river access platforms for boats and fishing; trailhead rest areas; interpretive signage; and soft surface trails that connect with the improved hard surfaced regional South Platte River Trail that traverses the park.
