Established in 1969, THK Associates, Inc., is a market research, landscape architecture, planning and urban design firm that encompasses all aspects of planning, design and development, including community and regional planning, urban design, land development planning, landscape architecture, environmental restoration, economic and market research and communication graphics. Led by our three principals, Dan Conway, Kevin Shanks and Peter Elzi, THK employs a staff of 17 professionals, including landscape architects/planners and business/market analysts. THK is currently working on several hundred miles of river corridor restoration and recreation improvements in Colorado.

I-70 Twin Tunnels Expansion Idaho Springs, Colorado

The I-70 Twin Tunnels and Old Game Check Station Trailhead project focused on improving mobility within the I-70 mountain corridor. CDOT added a third westbound and eastbound lane to the tunnels. THK's responsibilities included environmental restoration along Clear Creek, which borders the roadway, and constructing a recreational trailhead on the Clear Creek Greenway. Additionally, THK played an instrumental role in context sensitive solutions, public facilitation, developing partnerships and funding opportunities.

Gateway Park, Denver

Gateway Park is a premier mixed-use business park. THK led the planning and design of Gateway Park since its conception. The park features extensive landscaping and wide parkway treatments. THK was responsible for the entry monuments, streetscapes, parks and open space, plus many of the businesses and facilities developed within the park. THK is on the Gateway Park design review committee and continues to support the park's success.
