Riverside Cemetery Memorial Cody, Wyoming
Steiner Thuesen PLLC provided design services from concept to completion. The space is designed to accommodate individual or larger memorial gatherings. The new construction replaced a directory and masonry benches. The sandstone from the old benches was recycled and used to build flagpole bases for flags representing the armed services and local service organizations. Amenities include masonry walls, overhead shade structure, site furnishings, flagpoles, lighting, electronic kiosk directory, landscape, and irrigation. With the exception of electrical and structural design, Steiner Thuesen provided all design services, plus full service construction period services.
Riverside – Graham Cemetery Cody, Wyoming
Steiner Thuesen PLLC provided design services from concept through construction while serving as the prime consultant. The master plan has plots for 9,325 graves. Paved streets provide access throughout the cemetery. Treated effluent from the city sewage lagoons is pumped to a reservoir on the property for irrigating the cemetery. Initial development included construction of E Avenue, concrete lining of a canal, construction of the reservoir and pump house, installation of the effluent supply line, rough grading of the site and perimeter fencing. Nine acres of the cemetery are fully developed and in use. Completed improvements include entry signage, paving of roads, landscaping and irrigation, installation of effluent pump and ultraviolet treatment equipment and the irrigation pump station. The memorial circle includes a decorative hardscape; overhead shade structure; masonry seatwalls; site furnishings; flagpoles; lighting; landscaping; water feature and directory.
Hilands Golf Club Range Remodel Billings, Montana
High netting was used to protect fairway #4 from the driving range. Two years ago the netting and support poles came down during heavy winds. The club received insurance money, but did not replace the netting immediately. The members did not welcome new, obtrusive netting. Steiner Thuesen was consulted, and recommended conversion of the flat open range to a short game practice and teaching facility. A plan was drawn featuring target greens at varying distances. Several of the greens could be approached from varying angles, increasing the shot making possibilities. The formerly flat range was extensively sculpted to generate earth for the greens and their surroundings, while creating positive drainage. The earth forms were also designed to assist in keeping balls on the facility. The project was opened in June 2014 and has been well received by the membership.
