Eric Crotty, Landscape Architect, Inc., (ECLA) is a sole-proprietorship established in Colorado in 2009. Principal Eric Crotty has over 25 years of experience as a landscape architect, project manager and representative for projects of varying scales throughout the U.S. and abroad: historic preservation, criminal justice and health care facilities, theme parks and attractions, schoolyard renovations, and senior living facilities. His projects can be found in locations as far flung as Stockholm; Rifle, Colo., Orlando, Barcelona and Jerudong amusement park in Brunei, funded by the Brunei government for $1 billion.

Upper School at Colorado Academy Denver

Boulders provide informal seating near the main entrance of the Upper School at Colorado Academy. Cast concrete benches with buff sandstone caps define the entrance plaza and provide gathering spaces for students and teachers. The school wanted to save the mature honey locust near the south entrance. The landscape architect encircled it with a cast concrete wall. A curvilinear walk traverses the slope up to the building and provides an accessible walk to the entrance.

Country Club Residence, Denver

Julia Silverstein Ries, FASLA (1090-2005), Colorado's third licensed landscape architect, and the state's first licensed female landscape architect (1968), designed the landscape for this historic home. The homeowners uncovered the patchwork walk during a renovation. The walk was reconstructed, each stone photographed and numbered for reinstallation. New brick edging was installed in the front planting beds and in the back garden on the perimeter of the existing plant beds. The edging design matches the brick curbs on the driveway, which were widened for easier garage access. Recycled pavers were used to match the original pavers.
