Course Description:

Landscape design, Land Art and design-build projects for park & recreation planning, corporate spaces, public, private and residential gardens and healing gardens. We will study the ideation process for developing emotionally grabbing site-specific concepts, naming as a valuable component in the process, and detail-driven project support and observation for memorable work that reflects the original design intent.

Biography:

Ketti Kupper is an artist, landscape designer, public art consultant and conscious lifestyle expert who uses eco-conscious environments, healing landscapes, outdoor living spaces and works of art to shift perception toward personal empowerment, timeless connections, and individual choices that support the collective whole.

Kupper is a former professor of art and department chair at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, a HGTV design challenge winner, and a published landscape designer with work showcased in Sunset, Monrovia.com and Leaf magazine. She is currently working on a 3-phase public art / land art project along the Los Angeles River at the Glendale Narrows. Ketti?EUR??,,????'?????<
Kupper's portfolio includes paintings for corporate giants such as American Express, Nestle, Mary Kaye Cosmetics and Silver Burdette. Kupper also consulted for advertising, package design, naming, concept development and brand development with firms including Landor Associates and Ogilvy and Mather winning an ADDY for package design and collateral.

Best known for her architectural art-infused landscapes with outdoor prints, poetry and bas relief sculptures; her distinctive mix of modern and old world sensibilities stands alone. A lifetime of related professional experience, and a study in the concepts of presence have produced out-of-the-ordinary creative solutions, detailed project oversight and insightful conscious living guidance.

She is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), the Pacific Horticulture Society, the Sustainable Business Council of Los Angeles and Americans for the Arts.

Biography:

D. Yoshikawa Wright (Yoshikawa) is a stone sculptor fascinated with the possibilities of stone and water; as such he focuses his talents on the creation of sculptural waterfalls.

Yoshikawa has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado, has studied abroad in numerous countries, and is based in Los Angeles, California. He has also been the recipient of several national sculpture awards. His most notable projects include the Los Angeles Fallen Firefighters Memorial, Wolfgang Puck?EUR??,,????'?????<
