Course Description:
Certain information is needed to program an irrigation controller, whether ?EUR??,,????'??smart?EUR??,,????'?? or not. This presentation will help attendees understand what information is needed and where to get it. The following list of information along with the sources of this data will be covered in this presentation: Soils, including field capacity, permanent wilting point and apparent specific gravity. Plants and Climate with consideration to root depth; Evapo-transpiration rate, plant/crop/landscape coefficient and management allowed depletion, lastly irrigation design and precipitation rate.

Biography:
Ramesh Kumar received his Ph.D from the University of California, Davis in Agricultural Engineering. He is currently a Professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in the Landscape Irrigation Science Program and has been since 1980. Dr. Kumar teaches irrigation short courses within industry and for the Irrigation Association. He is a trusted expert in his field and also spends time researching and testing irrigation products.
