Course Description: In this course, attendees will learn the latest technological advances in economical irrigation pump control methods. Advanced motor/pump design techniques do little to reduce your operating costs and increase the reliability of your Irrigation system, without also having an intelligent control system monitoring the incoming power, flow requirements, output current, and overall health of the system. The newest VFD control systems, when properly matched to your motor and pump, give you peace of mind in performing as expected, and protecting the motor and pump from a variety of potentially catastrophic failures. Attendees will also learn what questions to ask when designing an energy efficient irrigation system, and what parameters are important to understand and adjust during startup so the system will give years of dependable use. Biography: Paul Nistler is the Manager of Engineered Custom Panels for SJE-Rhombus, a leading control panel manufacturer, and provider of a wide variety of standard and custom electrical water and wastewater control products, many of which are used in ground water and irrigation applications, utilizing many different types of variable frequency drives.
