Course Description: As southern California endures its worst drought ever many conservation efforts are being enacted to ensure our environmental future. A large movement is happening which, in a nutshell, tells us to remove grass/lawns and replace them with native plants. Somehow, grass is now the enemy of the landscape. While there are merits to removing a lawn, there are also benefits that come with having a lawn. If you have kids or dogs, a lawn is a must. Now your clients can have a lawn and save more than half the water by replacing conventional spray heads with sub-surface or underground irrigation. In this course attendees will learn about sub-surface drip irrigation for lawns, how to install them, what it takes to get started and how to fertilize a lawn with a sub-surface drip irrigation system.
