Course Description: Students will learn how to conduct visual inspections of the various station zones in operation, identify plant material, take soil samples, conduct pressure checks, and determine if there are any unseen water leaks. Students will learn how document problems with photos, use manual and recording pressure gauges, determine soil texture type, and identify plant problems as a result of poor irrigation practices. Biography: Everardo Chavez began landscaping with his father in his teens, forming his own company, CLC Landscaping. Everardo has worked in landscaping for 12 years, focusing on residential and commercial design, irrigation, maintenance and repair, and xeriscaping. He received his irrigation technician certification from Mount San Antonio College. Everardo is certified in water management, irrigation installation and recently received his ABPA backflow technician and tester license. As one of the few companies in Southern California experienced in xeriscaping and California-native plants, Everardo believes in promoting California water conservation. He helps to spread his vast knowledge as a water conservationist by instructing and consulting others in the field. He has participated in several hundred seminars as a bilingual instructor for the Metropolitan water conservation district and for Irrigator Tech.
