2012 Connecticut ASLA Chapter Design

The Excellence Award went to Robert Olson Associates of Boston for the Community Health Center Roof Garden in Middletown, Conn. The roof garden covers 12,400 sq. ft. One-quarter of the garden is enclosed, with a central glass wall pavilion in the south garden, semitransparent stairwell enclosures at the north garden and a walled mechanical equipment enclosure north of the pavilion. A circumferential promenade walk has precast concrete pavers and LED paver lights, framed by a continuous peastone drain channel.
