Course Description:

The designing and building of structures. such as, garden walls, fences, trellises, gates, pergolas, gazebos, patio covers, and auxiliary buildings i.e., gardening sheds and green houses. has recently been a balancing act. The dilemma between being the use of sustainable versus eco friendly materials, and using traditional building methods. Aesthetically, not every homeowner appreciates a white vinyl pergola or the green shade of creosote in a garden tie wall, as well as the impact on our landfills or groundwater.

Biography:

Ken Lowe began his career in the Design Industry in 1968. The majority of his 40 plus years of experience has been spent in the design and building of commercial and tenant improvement projects. Ten years ago Ken was inspired to turn his passion for Craftsman architecture and environmentally conscious design into a residential design/build business. His tenure in residential design actually started before then. Ken designed luxury resort condominium projects in Lake Tahoe and Bear Valley. Presently he and his wife Christine, former Art Director for California Homes magazine and landscape designer, create custom private residences, additions, remodels and drought tolerant landscapes.
