JJR has been honored by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) with the esteemed Landscape Architecture Firm Award for 2011. The award, selected by ASLA’s Board of Trustees, goes to only one firm each year and is in recognition of landscape architecture work that has had a lasting influence.
The firm has earned over 250 professional planning, design and engineering awards. JJR will receive the award during the ASLA Honors presentation, Nov. 2 in San Diego.
JJR, founded in 1961 by William Johnson, Carl Johnson and Clarence Roy, is a nationally recognized leader in landscape architecture, planning, urban design, civil engineering and environmental science. JJR is headquartered in Madison, Wis., with offices in Ann Arbor, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Phoenix. The firm employs 130 professionals.
Entering its 50th year in 2011, JJR’s client list continues to grow across the U.S. and around the globe, including projects in South Korea, China, Qatar, Panama and Canada.
“The landscape architecture and urban design arena is ever evolving,” said JJR President Fred Klancnik, PE, FASCE. “We’re always planning, looking to the future. (This award) is a great source of pride for the entire JJR family.”
