Biography:
Debbie Evans was born and raised in southern California. At a very early age, (birth), she was immersed into a life where she would get to know the big outdoor natural world. She developed a love for nature and in particular, native plants as part of her upbringing. She has always lived around them.
Debbie is Marketing Coordinator at Tree of Life Nursery. She shares the nursery?EUR??,,????'???s passion for all things California and conveys the message about native plants to landscape architects, planners, land managers and restoration specialists. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in linguistics from the University of California at San Diego.
Course Description: Are your clients asking for low-water use sustainable landscapes? Learn how to address their requests by learning how to work with native plants in any landscape. Native plants require very little water, and virtually no pesticides or fertilizer. The more familiar you become with native plants, the more satisfied your customers will be with both you and their water bill. Maintenance is still an important part of establishing and keeping a beautiful native landscape, so come learn how you can get knowledgeable on this special group of drought-tolerant plants that people are asking for.
Course Description:Had trouble in the past getting native plants to look spectacular in your projects? Re-think them! What many designers and contractors overlook is the importance of evergreen and hearty native shrubs for the landscape. Include a base of mean, green natives in your projects, cut the water down and place flowering natives up close where you can maintain them. This will be a recipe for success. Come and learn about what plants will do great for you and your clients requesting not just drought tolerant, but drought-tolerant, native and downright gorgeous landscapes.
