Biography:
Over the past fourteen years as owner/manager of his own business, Mike Ventura has developed skills and experience in all aspects of tree and landscape care. Concurrent with the management of his business, he completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture, with a minor in Plant Pathology at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. In addition, he earned Certification as an Arborist and received his State License as a Pesticide Trainer.
Since 2005, he has worked as a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Glendora, CA. As a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor, Ventura plans and organizes the landscape management for a 27-acre sports park, manages an executive golf course, manages landscape assessment sites throughout the city, heads in house training for landscape pest management crew and manages a Maxicom irrigation program. Most recently, he has functioned as a consultant to universities, property management companies, and landscape maintenance contractors in the development of effective and efficient practices for landscape services.
Course (1) Title: Implementing an Integrated Pest Management Program For Sport Park Management
Mike Ventura will be presenting a seminar dealing with topics such as Identity pest management zones; Planters; Tree wells; Ground cover and slope pest management; Rodent management; Planter pest management; Weed control in ground cover; Tree well pest management; Slope pest management; Rodent pest management (gopher, ground squirrels, mole, skunk); Gopher, biology and control; Ground squirrels, biology and control; Mole, biology and control; Skunks, biology and control; Soil management for a healthy turf.
Course (2) Title: Rodent and Weed Control Strategies
Mike Ventura will be presenting a seminar dealing with topics such as gopher management, Biology and control; Ground Squirrel management, Biology and control; Mole management: Biology and control; The role of grubs and mole management, Trapping strategies, Weed control using ground cover, Gazania?EUR??,,??s, Star jasmine, Japanese honeysuckle, Creeping red fescue, Hypericum.
