Biography:

Daniel Wilson, MESM is the President of WELDesign, a licensed, bonded & insured California Corporation. He has 15 years experience working with natural landscapes and their associated plants and animals.

Utilizing his "Landscape Aikido" philosophy, Daniel Wilson will present on redirecting landscape challenges so that client, soil, plants and budgets may all benefit. Focusing on the aquatic-terrestrial interface, Daniel is continuously refining his comprehensive understanding of working with various landscapes to enhance or protect natural resources.

He is currently the appointed Public-at-Large/ Community representative to the City of Santa Barbara as a voting advisor to the Creeks Restoration & Water Quality Improvement Program (since 2003), with annual funds of $2.4 million. Since summer of 2005, he also serves as an appointed voting member to the Mission Creek Technical Design Committee: the two-decade ongoing, $37 Million, multi-agency project.

Additionally, Mr. Wilson is actively involved with numerous pro-bono activities, including Channel Islands restoration, surveying and mapping, and issues related to the Gaviota Coast, South Coast creeks and the Santa Barbara Channel fisheries.

Gain insight on how to work with natural landscapes and their associated plants and animals from an expert with 15 years experience. Learn how to harvest grey water and capture rainwater off roof surfaces to filter and store in cisterns or tanks for eventual use as irrigation. Find out how to use rainwater for edibles, food producing plants, fruit trees, etc. Learn how to create beautiful gardens that use little water, no pesticides, no fertilizers, and minimal-to-no fossil fuels, create lots of enjoyment, all while attracting insects, butterflies and hummingbirds. 2 hours
