2009 Candidates for CLARB Office

The CLARB Nominating Committee has announced its slate of candidates for officers of the organization:




Temple Barry (Miss.) is the CLARB president elect.

Temple Barry is the current CLARB vice president. He is president of Lakeland Associates, LLC/ Barry Landscape Inc., Jackson, Miss. He was chairman of the state board in 1994, 1998 and 2003. His state board term expires in 2010.

CLARB Vice President (only candidate)






Ian Wasson (British Columbia) is the CLARB vice president elect.


Ian Wasson is an urban design planner in the planning department for the city of Burnaby, British Columbia.

CLARB Secretary (three candidates)






Frank Alley (Miss.)


Frank Alley is the proprietor of Frank Alley Landscape Architects, Jackson, Miss. He has been appointed to the state board by four different governors. His current board service goes through 2012.






Dennis Bryers (Neb.) APA, ASLA


Dennis Bryers, APA, ASLA, is chairman of the Nebraska Board of Landscape Architects. He is a parks and recreation planner II for the Omaha, Neb. Parks, Recreation & Public Property Department.






Clair Lewis (Nev.).


Clair Lewis is a landscape architect/project manager for Las Vegas. He was president of the Nevada Board in 2003 and currently serves as a board enforcement investigation officer.

Each member board votes for one candidate for each office. If you are a voting member, you can complete and download the election ballot at [www.clarb.org/documents/08Nominations/2009OfficerBallot.pdf]. Voting will take place at the September 2008 CLARB annual meeting in San Diego, California. Ballots are due by 8:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008. Ballots are turned in to Rebecca Moden. All voting members must have proof of voting rights.

For those boards not attending the annual meeting, the election ballot can be sealed in an envelope and mailed to the council office (CLARB, 3949 Pender Drive, Suite 120, Fairfax, VA 22030) no later than August 29, 2008.
