Established in 1980, Miller Company has worked extensively with public agencies, private developers, non-profit organizations, and community groups to design multi-family communities, school grounds, health-care facilities, and urban parks. Their staff includes licensed Landscape Architects and LEED accredited professionals and they are particularly proud to be recognized as a leader in the arena of community participation in the creation of livable communities. The Miller Company endeavors to foster the creation of sustainable landscapes in all of their project work. They make optimum use of materials available on the site and attempt to limit the importation of materials from off-site, and use appropriate construction and native plant materials in service to systems that recycle and nurture the whole environment.

This award winning landscape design concept is a successful integration of a complex social program within the context of a challenging physical environment. The award winning garden design in the interior portions of the site moves along a curving path leading to an amphitheater, community gathering spaces, and landscape terraces connected to private garden units designed to attract birds and butterflies.
The courtyard functions as the main entry to the community and is highlighted by a 54-foot tall corrugated concrete water wall integrated into the wall of the adjacent parking structure. The salt finished concrete main entry walk is interlaced with flagstone paths leading to individual unit entries accessing the courtyard. Curving galvanized sheet-metal-basket-weave-fences define the private garden areas.
Miller Company designed and built a new concrete water feature with its vessel shaped upper pool and rectilinear ponds to draw the eye out into the garden. Ipe decking serves as an entertainment stage and bridge into the stone paved garden court with the new outdoor kitchen area. Stone walls terrace up the slope and are planted with fragrant and flowering varieties.
The "Adventure Garden" is an ongoing learning experiment that features a bird and butterfly garden, a native plant garden, an organic food garden complete with composting center. Facilities for two separate Pre-School yards have been designed and built featuring a ship wreck, a new central climbing structure, a fantasy platform for performances, a new art deck, the ?EUR??,,????'??Sugar Shack?EUR??,,????'?? playhouse and a custom designed two story play element.
