Callander Associates is a privately owned landscape architecture and planning firm with offices located in San Mateo, Rancho Cordova and San Jos????(C). Founded in 1973 by Peter Callander; this firm of landscape architects provides consultation, master planning, design studies, preliminary plans, construction documents and construction review services for parks, recreation, transportation, housing, commercial and open space projects.

Bayside Park, Burlingame

As the Burlingame Landfill was approaching its maximum capacity, agencies at the state and federal level were putting pressure on the city of Burlingame to issue a closure plan. The city solicited Callander Associates to prepare a site analysis and schematic alternatives for the site. Once a consensus was reached a more detailed plan was developed reflecting the desires and concerns of city staff.

Interpretive Center, Los Vaqueros Reservoir, Alameda/Contra Costa

Providing educational opportunities for park visitors was the primary goal of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Interpretive Center. As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, Callander Associates' design responds to difficult site topography, existing mature oak trees, important views to the reservoir dam, and the building?EUR??,,????'???s architecture.

Universal Universe, at Southside Park, Sacramento

The Universal Universe is a new exceptionally accessible playground within the beloved Southside Park, located in downtown Sacramento. The park is centrally located in the heart of a culturally diverse neighborhood of tree-lined streets and historic architecture. Prior to construction, the site contained a small, worn and uninspiring playground. The free flowing forms of the new Universal Universe playground are nestled among mature trees and overlook the nearby pond. The adjacent aquatic center and community clubhouse provide an even broader view of recreation activities and users of the playground.
