Senate Bill 1549 was signed into effect on April 12, 2000 by Governor Hull of Arizona ratifying what has been referred to as the "Contracting Bill of Rights." Some of the provisions of the new law include regulations for progress payments, arbitration disputes, interest penalties, and work termination. It is believed that the new law will improve the working conditions of landscape contractors in their efforts to receive fair and adequate payment within a reasonable time period of having completed a project within the state of Arizona.
