Hillary Takes A Hike...

A White House "Millenium Trails" Project

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Recently on a brief hike along the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail in Maryland, Hillary Rodman Clinton announced a White House "Millennium Trails" project that will promote the nationwide development of bicycle and jogging trails. The program will designate 12 national millennium trails that hold special importance and honor a "state millennium trail" per state from nominations made by governors. Two-thousand community trails will also be identified, which will likely create opportunities for Landscape Architects across the nation. The objective of the project is to help create trails and riding paths within 15 minutes of each American's front door by the end of the millennium celebration. Director of Government Affairs Marianne Fowler at the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) stated, "Trails connect people, their land, their culture, and their history.
