ALCA Warns Landscape Contractors
TUCSON, AZ
The Arizona Landscape Contractors Association has asked LCM to warn Landscape Contractors of several instances of fraud and theft. The City of Tucson, Arizona, is being hit hard with fraud. In one instance, a suspect has come to Landscape Contractors, presenting himself as the representative of a company that does remodeling and/or home construction. He asks for business cards so that he can recommend your company when some landscaping is required. He then takes your card and presents himself to homeowners as a representative of the Landscape Contracting company. Somehow he convinces the homeowner to give him money in advance, and then does not show up to do the work. Contractors are warned to be wary of such instances-- and to look for company logos to find a reference. Other cases of theft have occurred in Tucson. Several Landscape Contractors report stolen trucks and equipment from job sites.
