UC Verde requires as little as a fourth of the amount of water as traditional turf grasses, leading to a savings of as much as 75% of the volume of water that is applied to other types of turf. UC Verde has a slow vertical growth habit peaking at 4 to 6 tall and only needs to be mowed once every two to three weeks. It is a sterile female plant so it doesnt produce seed and is nearly pollen-free. Unlike other turf grasses UC Verde is extremely tough and requires little or no chemical insecticides, fungicides or herbicides to control insects, disease and weed
