Timber boardwalks are the natural choice for short span structures to span small creeks, wrap around trees, and impact the environment in the least way possible. Boardwalks allow for easy installation in thought-to-access jobsites. Rough sawn timber decking meets skid-resistant requirements even when wet, though other hybrid boardwalk deck solutions are available. Timber is the only renewable building resource, as 20% more wood fiber is grown than harvested each year in North America. In addition to fiber growth, timber stores/sequesters carbon, which reduces pollution.
