Ron Triffo, chairman of the board of directors for Stantec announces Robert Gomes will become president and CEO of Stantec effective May 15, 2009.
Tony Franceschini, who has led Stantec since 1998, will remain a member of the board of directors.

Bob has a degree in civil engineering from the University of Alberta. He began his career with an engineering consulting firm and joined Stantec in 1988. In 1991 he was appointed principal engineer in charge of the Edmonton, Ontario office. In November 1998, he was appointed vice president of Stantec?EUR??,,????'?????<
In 2005, he became senior vice president for the industrial/project management group and more than doubled its revenues by the end of 2007.
Stantec has 9,000 employees working in 150 locations in North America, providing planning consulting services, engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics for infrastructure and facilities projects.
