Spectators got wet when Santa Fe, N.M. planners forgot to alter an automatic irrigation controller this July 4.

Automated irrigation controllers are great, but humans need to reset them for special events, as red-faced officials at Santa Fe Public Schools found out this Independence Day in Santa Fe, N.M.

Members of a rock band watched as their equipment and a public-address system were soaked during the performance.

?EUR??,,????'??The public schools just failed to follow through with the responsibility of seeing the sprinklers not going off,?EUR??,,????'?? organizer Al Padilla told the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper.

Hilary Marshall, 15, a volunteer, said the first wave of sprinklers lasted about a half-hour and then suddenly stopped. Five minutes later, she said, the rest of the heads emerged from the grass.
