What elements do you recommend including in a dog park?

To make your dog park truly unique, consider incorporating interactive features that engage both dogs and their owners. This could include agility courses with ramps, tunnels and hoops for dogs to explore and play on, or you could even add fun elements like a photobooth for dog parents to capture memories with their furry friend. These features will not only provide stimulation for dogs but also create a fun and dynamic environment for all visitors.

Is it necessary to create separate small and large dog areas in a dog park?

Creating two separate designated areas, one for small dogs (less than 35 lbs.) and one for large dogs (more than 35 lbs.), within a dog park is best so you can cater to the different sizes and temperaments of dogs. This allows the owners to feel more comfortable letting their dogs off leash and reduces the risk and liability of conflicts between the dogs. However, it is important to make sure each section includes its own amenities and features to accommodate the needs of that specific sized dog. For example, we offer both small (20") hoops and large (28") hoops so each size of dog can have an obstacle fit for them.

What are some other dog-friendly amenities to include in a dog park?

When designing a dog park, don't forget about the comfort and convenience of the dog's parent. This can include adding seating areas with comfortable benches and providing pet waste stations to keep the area clean or even dog fountains so the dog owner doesn't have to worry about their dog getting dehydrated. By providing convenience and comfort for visitors, you will turn the dog park into not only a fun place for the dogs but also a great place for all park visitors.

Lastly, what is your best tip on how to make your dog park "Best in Show"?

The last tip I could give you is to customize it to be special for each park. Something we are really excited about is all the ways we can personalize the dog park experience. We have introduced more colors than ever before in our obstacles and amenities, which allows the dog park to match the style of the community. Another exciting way you can personalize the park is with Custom Pet Stations. Whether it is simply by adding a special message or a name to the sign or by including a free sponsorship sign with the station, designing a custom station has never been easier. Lastly, something we will be launching very soon is customized dispenser box stations. With the custom dispensers, you can either add a plaque to transform the box or you can completely brand the box with the design, message and colors to match the dog park. In the end, personalizing a dog park with the personality of the community is truly the easiest way to make the dog park stand out and be Best in Show!
