PLANET, the national trade association that represents more than 100,000 landscape industry professionals, has asked members to reach out to Congress to address the H-2B program through the appropriations process.

The Professional Landcare Network, PLANET, and the H-2B Workforce Coalition have asked Congress to include a provision in the spending measure that would:

• Prohibit the Department of Labor (DOL) from issuing any new H-2B wage methodology rule that does not preserve an employer's right to use private wage surveys and that does not preserve a multilevel wage methodology that provides for varying wage levels that are commensurate with the skill and training levels required for the position;
• Require the DOL to continue accepting H-2B wage surveys;
• Re-instate the H-2B returning worker cap exemption; and
• Allow staggered crossing for all H-2B employers regardless of industry.

Although PLANET works on behalf members they need help in reforming the H-2B program. As such, PLANET has asked its members to reach out to their senators and members of Congress. PLANET has even taken the time to simplify the process; by clicking here you can personalize a letter.
