Controllers In Portland, Ore., there?EUR??,,????'???s more evidence that weather-based controllers save water. The City of Portland awarded its Business for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow Award to the Port of Portland for switching to weather-based irrigation controllers.
As part of a pilot program with the Portland Water Bureau, the Port of Portland installed weather-based controllers at two sites, cutting water consumption by 30 to 40 percent. The controllers are credited with saving 1 million gallons of water in 2004-05.
