Stephanie Hummer, a freshmen on full scholarship at Ohio State University who spoke of becoming a landscape architect, was kidnapped and murdered on March 6, 1994 near the campus.

The Enquirer (in Cincinnati) reports that on Jan. 18, a 35-year-old Columbus man, Jonathan J. Gravely, was charged with her murder after a DNA match pointed to him as the likely killer and that he confessed to the crime. Gravely was in the state?EUR??,,????'???s DNA index system for an arrest on nonpayment of child support. Ohio passed a state law in May 2005 that required all convicted felons, and in some cases those convicted of misdemeanors, to submit DNA samples to the database.
